Why I became an Entrepreneur…

By on

Entrepreneurship is a different mindset than what I grew up with. I was told to go to school, get a job and make sure you get good benefits. Well, that’s what I did.

I thought trading my time for dollars was just the way it all was suppose to be.  Get a good job with benefits and retire at 65.

The whole schedule of working 9-5 Monday through Friday makes me sick to my stomach. I did that kind of schedule once and I absolutely hated it. I was like a zombie all week.  Having the 2 days off on the weekend was just not enough.

I always knew there was something else out there…

The whole thought of waiting till I’m 65 to start living the good life didn’t settle with me. I wanted the good life now and I was determined to find it. When I was approached with an opportunity I was all about it. I loved the idea of being my own boss!

The first thing I noticed…

What entrepreneurship gave me was a sense purpose. I finally felt like I was living a life with purpose. Instead of waking up dreading going to work, I woke up exciting to what was to come. I love learning and creating new things.

I was finally dreaming again and I now have goals. I don’t remember the last time I did that. It put the fire back into my soul!!!

It’s a Bumpy Road…

The road to Entrepreneurship is not all rainbows and unicorns. It’s a road only for the ones with guts and willpower to keep moving forward even after you shove your face in the dirt.

I have my highs and I have my lows. I’m just glad I have the support system to pick me back up and a loving husband cheering me on.  My community and my mentors is what holds me together.  Go see what my mentor Ann Sieg says about being an Entrepreneur.  Click HERE
