Among the wide variety of brand-new bloggers or vloggers  that appear to emerge each day, there is still a way that you can make yourself and  your blog different from all the other bloggers out there.

Even when you are blogging under a popular topic, you can still be quickly distinguished  in the blogging world when you build a brand.

Blogging is a business (if you want it to be), and  branding your blog site will make it familiar to your target market. Your Brand is what makes you stand out from the masses.

Yes, you can still adhere to some trends, but twist it in a manner that it becomes your own.  Look at your competition and observe what they are doing.  See what is working and not working in your niche.

You are as unique as a snowflake.  Show that to your viewers.  Don’t copy everything your competition is doing, but take it all in and put your own flavor on it.

There is no formula. Just create your own formula of articles that you know your visitors will enjoy. Having these sorts of articles will certainly make your blog site more intriguing and your readers will regularly come back for more.

You know what will attract more viewers to your brand?

Video!!!

They are predicting that in 2015 video will be the source of 90% of the traffic.  Incorporating video into your business will no longer be an option.  It will become a must.

It’s good to have a video on your bio page and an explainer video on your home page.  This is the best way for people to get to Know, Like, and Trust you.

Pay attention to your internet site design-it should attract attention. Branding begins with the visual look. Your blog site is the product of your journey and should be crafted in a way that is eye catching.

Lay it out in such a way that it emanates your vision of the overall ambiance you desire your blog to establish .

If you find yourself battling with building your blog or you are pulling your hair out trying to figure out all the techie stuff on the back-end.  Just outsource it.  If you don’t know coding then don’t spend your time trying to figure it out.  Don’t let this stuff keep you from moving forward.

You must be consistent when it comes to your stand on your view points even if it  appears biased. Having a voice in the blogging globe will certainly make a much more qualified blogger as well as keep the audience loving you.  You will always have haters no matter what you stand for.  So speak your mind and be biased.

Don’t try to be everything to everyone.  It will never work.

Look at Howard Stern.  You either love him or hate him.  But that is why he is so famous.  He speaks his mind and he doesn’t give a crap what people think about him.  That’s what has made him famous, and what you need to do.

What people think about you is none of your business.

Your Brand needs to be a Bacon Brand, not and Oatmeal Brand.  Meaning, it needs to be tasteful and exciting, not boring and plain like oatmeal.  If you have not read that book, I highly recommend it.  Bacon vs Oatmeal by Justin Foster.

Just remember, your Brand follows you everywhere.  Be careful about what you put online.  People are watching.

One last important note on Branding…

It’s not all about Logos, colors, and fancy taglines.  It’s about the overall experience of your customer, and a unique values and mission statement.

Your brand is how it makes your customer feel.  If they feel good about your brand…most likely they will want to do business with you.

Don’t take the process of building your brand lightly.  It’s the blueprint of your business.  It is the fundamental core of your business.  You wouldn’t build a house without a blueprint, so why would you build your business?

    • Thanks Joanne. I actually did not come up with that Bacon phrase. I should go give credit to Justin Foster. You should read the his book. Oatmeal vs Bacon!
