The Awesome, The Bad, and Not so Ugly

I’m going to show you how you could quickly and easily start capturing your good times without being a pro…today!

Imagine…20yrs from now you and your family sitting around the TV watching all the family outings you recorded with your GoPro.  You are able to relive those precious moments with not only your kids but with your grandchildren.  Your grandchildren are able to experience first hand what their parents were like when they were young in High Definition.

Never in the history of mankind has there ever been a camera like the GoPro Hero 3.  I’m going to share with you all the bells and whistles so you can start creating your own memories!

The Awesome- The days of having to be a pro with a big fancy camera is over.  The GoPro 3+ Black Edition produces some of the best video we’ve seen from a camcorder.  Its lavish resolution and frame rate options will satisfy the beginners and experienced shooters.

The Bad- Navigating the option menu is still not optimal.  But if I can do it then you could too!  Battery life can be short lived depending on the setting.  So make sure you bring an extra battery.  Plan on buying a micoSD card as well.

Not so Ugly–  The GoPro 3+ Black Edition by far has the most compelling attributes.  The excellent video quality and impressive shooting options blows and thing comparable out of the water.  If superb quality and functionality matter to you most.  This is the camera for you!

The Hero 3 models came out in 2012.  The Hero 3+ Black Edition came out in 2013 and is the top of the line.  Followed by the Hero 3+ Silver Edition, and then there is the Hero White Edition.

As the highest-end model, the Black Edition has the most shooting options including a Protune mode for high-bit-rate video with neutral color and 24 frames per second recording for professional video production.  In other words it’s great for action shots!  It even   includes a Wi-Fi remote.

Compared to the Hero3, the Hero3+ has a lighter, smaller housing, longer battery life, faster Wi-Fi for use with the GoPro app, a SuperView mode for more immersive wide-angle video, an Auto Low-Light mode, and updated lens for sharper video.  It also has some added shooting features to keep it the leader in it’s category.

The app is the coolest thing ever.  You can stream your video on your phone immediately after shooting.

It comes with Goodies!

GoPro doesn’t stiff you  on the accessories.  the only thing you do need to purchase is a microSD card up to 64GB.

The camera’s waterproof housing is good to depths of 131 ft.  I’ve had so much fun filming my girl in the pool and lake!

If you don’t need it to be waterproof and you would like more audio to reach the mic, it comes with a separate case.

Two adhesive mounts are included — one flat and one curved — so you can slap one on a helmet and go.  You’ll find a horizontal as well as a vertical buckle and a three-way pivot arm, so you can mount the camera on the top, front, or side of a helmet.

There is no charger in the box for the camera, just a Mini-USB cable for charging via computer or USB wall adapter if you have one. GoPro offers a two-battery external charger, but again, you’ll need a USB wall adapter or a computer to supply the power.

Lastly, there’s a Wi-Fi remote that comes with the Black Edition. It is nice to have for the those times when you don’t want to whip out your smartphone to remotely start and stop recordings. It’s waterproof to 10 feet and can control up to 50 cameras at once from up to 600 feet away.

Go Pro Hero 3

Visually the Hero 3 and Hero 3+ don’t look to much different.  The Hero 3 is a bit more bulky but not to much difference.

GoPro claims better battery life with the Hero3+ and going by its engineering estimates, you can get up to 2 hours of battery life shooting at 1080p 30fps with Wi-Fi off. Using higher resolutions or faster frame rates, as well as using the Wi-Fi with the included remote or GoPro mobile app, will bite into that time.

If you are looking for a camera to capture your good times this is it.  The price of 399$ is a steal.  I spent 2x that on my DSLR and it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like the GoPro.  There is nothing on the market like this.
